Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz
(July)
Bushnell Park, Hartford
Three nights and two days on two stages;
since 1992 this festival has become the
largest jazz event in New England that is free
to the public, attracting 45,000 music lovers
to Hartford’s Bushnell Park each July - the
level of a true destination event. With a
history of presenting national and international
mainstream, cutting-edge, traditional and
contemporary jazz performers; aspiring local
and regional artists; and some truly wonderful
young musicians from area schools and
noteworthy jazz programs, this event is a
diverse world-class jazz festival that enlivens
the cultural and economic vitality of Greater
Hartford.

Hartford
International Jazz Festival
(Columbus Day Weekend, October)
Three
day festival; eight main stages
throughout downtown Hartford with
performances by national and international
musicians; local and regional musicians at
twenty-two restaurants. Encore stages are
free except for Black-eyed Sally's. Main
attraction stages include Asylum Hill
Congregational Church, The Bushnell Center
for the Performing Arts, the Aetna Theater of
the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art,
Trinity College's Vernon Center, the Hartford
Public Library,Riverfront, and City Steam
Brewery.

Jazz at the Atheneum
(October - May)
In
addition to this concert series in the Aetna
Theater at the Wadsworth, the Hartford Jazz
Society runs a Jazz Cruise on the Connecticut
River every September, and a Valentine
Dance in February as fundraisers for its
Scholarship Fund.
